Privacy Policy
What SpinQueue collects, what is public, what stays private, who we share it with, and how to get it removed.
Under review. Beta Legal Notice: This Privacy Policy describes the current SpinQueue public beta and may be updated as the service evolves. Material changes will require renewed acceptance where applicable.
1. What we collect
Account information: your email address, your sign-in method, and whether you use SpinQueue as an Artist, a Creator, or both.
Profile information you choose to add: display name, handle, avatar and cover image, biography, location, genres and links to your own pages elsewhere.
Music information: the tracks you add and the links you supply for them, optional artwork you upload for a track, and audio files you upload where a submission or a track needs them.
Activity: your submissions, the sessions you enter, your queue positions, reviews you receive, follows, messages, reports, Golden Tickets, Reward Passes, referral activity and credits.
Payment records: what was bought, when, for how much, and its current status, including the platform fee, any affiliate share and any payment processing amount. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by SpinQueue.
Technical information needed to run the service securely, such as the timing of requests and errors.
2. What is public and what is not
These are public on your profile and on the pages you appear on:
- Your display name, handle, avatar, cover image, biography, location, genres and the links you added.
- Your public music and Featured Track.
- Your follower and following counts, and public achievements such as Song War results.
- For Creators: your schedule, your published Offers and Bundles, and your watch destination.
These are never public:
- Your email address and sign-in details.
- Your messages.
- Your purchases, orders, credit balances and payment records.
- Your submission history and queue history.
- A Creator's private review notes, and review text you have not consented to publish.
- A Creator's earnings, payouts and finance information.
- Reports, moderation records, blocks and restrictions.
- Referral attribution — who referred whom is not shown publicly, and referral counts are shown only in aggregate to the person who earned them.
3. Referral links and affiliate attribution
Creators in the Creator Affiliate Program have a referral link containing a short referral code. When someone opens that link, SpinQueue records the visit in a bounded, non-identifying form and stores a signed cookie in that browser so the referral can be credited later if the visitor goes on to become a Creator.
That cookie contains only three things: the referral code, a random token generated for that browser, and an expiry date. It lasts 90 days, is signed so it cannot be edited or extended by the visitor, and cannot be read by page scripts. It holds no account, profile, membership or payment information, and the random browser token is never stored in our database in readable form — only a one-way keyed hash of it is.
We use this data for one purpose: deciding whether a new Creator account is attributable to a referring Creator, and calculating, paying and — where a payment is refunded — reversing the resulting commission. It is not used for advertising, for tracking you across other websites, or for building a profile of your browsing.
Referral relationships stay private. A referring Creator sees aggregate counts and their own earnings, not the browsing activity of the people who clicked. Nobody's public profile shows who referred them or who they referred. The referral endpoint responds identically for valid, inactive and unknown codes, so it cannot be used to discover who is a Creator.
4. How we use it
To run the service: create your account, show your profile, place you in queues in the correct order, deliver submissions to Creators, take payments and issue credits.
To keep the platform safe: enforce the rules, act on reports, prevent duplicate-account abuse of rewards and referrals, and investigate payment problems.
To tell you what is happening: queue milestones, reviews, payments and refunds, messages and account or safety notices. Money, safety and account-security notices cannot be switched off. Other notification categories can be controlled where a preference is available in Settings.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your music to train AI models.
6. Storage and security
Data is stored in SpinQueue's Supabase project, with access rules enforced by the database itself rather than only by the app.
Uploaded audio, avatars, covers and artwork are kept in private storage. Public images are served through SpinQueue's own image endpoints so the underlying storage location is never exposed.
Your browser stores your sign-in session and a small number of preferences, such as reduced motion, so you stay signed in and the interface behaves the way you set it.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator where applicable law requires it, within the timeframes that law sets.
7. How long we keep things
Account and profile information is kept while your account exists.
Payment, refund, dispute and accounting records are kept after an account closes, because we are required to keep them and because they are needed to resolve any later dispute about a specific payment.
Moderation records are kept for as long as they are needed to keep the platform safe.
Deactivating your account hides it and stops it being used. It does not delete it.
8. Your choices and your rights
You can edit or remove your profile information, images, music and links at any time from your profile settings.
You can control which non-essential notifications you receive in Settings.
You can block other accounts and manage your blocked list in Settings.
You can deactivate your account, and you can request account deletion, from Settings. Deletion requests are handled by SpinQueue and records we are required to keep are retained as described above.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal information, including to request a copy of it. Email support@spinqueue.com and we will handle the request.
9. Age
SpinQueue is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Where a change is material, you will be asked to accept the new version before continuing to use SpinQueue.
11. Referral links
Referral links store a limited-duration referral identifier in your browser for up to 90 days so the creator who introduced you can be credited. It is not advertising tracking and holds no account or payment information.
12. Contact
For any question about your information, a deletion request or a privacy concern, email SpinQueue support at support@spinqueue.com. Where the request concerns your account, send it from the email address on that account so we can verify it.
